Ask Our Experts: In SEM or SEO, Is There a Limit to the Number of Keywords That Can Or Should Be Used?

There is not a specific rule or guideline that can tell you how many keywords you should use.

The number is first dictated by your medical specialty and having a good understanding, through a solid medical marketing company, about what key terms your patients/customers are using to search for your services.

The second factor has to do with whether you are using a “Pay per click” strategy or whether you are designing your website from the “ground up” to be organically optimized by using the keywords in headers, code and the body of the text of your web site.

Finally, if you are going to use a “Pay per click” strategy, the number may be limited by either the amount of time you wish to spend trying to administer this or the amount of dollars you wish to invest with your SEM partner to administer this process.
